Zarmina believes every refugee girl deserves not only to survive but to thrive.
Zarmina Yusufi has been a dedicated physician for nearly two decades. She graduated from Karachi Medical and Dental College and completed her internal medicine residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Initially working as an employee with a hospitalist group, Zarmina quickly advanced to become a partner, overseeing and providing administrative leadership to more than 40 physicians and nurse practitioners.
She then joined the Veterans Administration, serving as an internal medicine physician for nearly two years. Currently, she works as an internist for the US Department of Defense, providing care to active-duty military personnel and their beneficiaries.
Zarmina is passionate about women's empowerment, particularly for girls who are future leaders. She is a member of All Women Physicians of the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) and a council member of APPNA for the DMV chapter.
As a mother of three, including two daughters, she is a full-time advocate for propelling girls forward and ensuring they have access to basic needs such as food, shelter, and education.
